I think it's fair to say that we're probably not going to meet in City again.
In case anyone still reads here, thanks for all the teamups & the creative writing. I've been around a ton of SGs over the past 42 months (my latest vet badge!), but this is the best. I'm happy that our final session a few months ago wrapped up some of the story stuff. It seemed like a fitting sort of wrap for our villain careers.
If you end up trying a new game (like Champions online, maybe??) - post it here! You never know.
And obviously post here if, against all odds, you decide to revisit City. I'm still in the game- the new patch introduces the ability to customise the colours of your powers in the same way as for costumes. So if you always wanted purple storm powers or orange kinetics, this is your time.
And hey - if none of the above applies, why not post anyway - for old times sake. Let us know how you're doing.

The Path to Immortality
Wowsers! Very well done Xoary! I haven't actually finished the arc yet, but it's really good! I really liked the second and fourth missions. Psy-klops is a tricky devil! I was beginning to think he would use all the letters of the alphabet!

I'm back in City of Heroes! I don't know why, but I signed up for three months. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I'm playing for now.

Here's a late Happy New Year to you all! I hope everyone is having a great year so far.
Warhammer is a fun game, but they released an update last year that really made the game difficult. Apparently, the developers all play Order, so all the fun updates were made for them. Maybe I am a poor player, but it seems so much harder after this update. I have actually given up playing it since December. We can try it again, but I'm certainly not playing Destruction this time around.
I logged into CoH/CoV a few weeks ago. I didn't see anyone online that I recognized. I tried a few pickup games and learned that I still have "it", though I'm a bit slower. The shield thingy is interesting, but I didn't take it very far. I gave up after several failed pickup teams.
I have not been playing any game with any frequency lately, but we could certainly try for a scheduled time for Warhammer. There's a lot of fun elements to the game, but it's just so unbalanced right now.

Winds of Chaos
Here is my latest project: Nielle the Sorceress!
I'm still playing Warhammer Online and having lots of fun. I originally started out as a Disciple of Khaine, but as usual, altitis has stricken me! Bright Wizards seem overpowered, so I thought to try "our" ranged class in Destruction Army.
The sorceress is fun to play. It's a blaster-type class from City of Heroes. I started reading online forums about the sorceress class and read what I think is the best description for it- A Glass Cannon. Very true. I can do oodles of damage, but am squishier as squishies can be.
I'm level 17 right now, so 3 levels away from getting my mount. I'm not sure what I'll name him yet.
What have you been doing?

It has been a while, so I thought I'd post. Here I am! Here is a picture of me in front of a keep. We're defending it from the forces of Order. I'm on a server named Sylvania. Right now I am level 16 and in 4 levels I'll be able to use a mount! Dark Elves (like me) get to ride on a "Cold One", which is not a can of beer, but a DINOSAUR!
Already I am debating on making an alt. I played in an RvR, which stands for Realm vs Realm. Think of it as the arena. A Bright Wizard is CRAZY good. One got me 4 times in a row!
Anyway, I heard that CoH is going to have a big update soon. I might come back and check that out for a bit.

Warhammer Head Start!
Warhammer Head Start began on Tuesday! I'm already a level 7 Disciple of Khaine, which is a melee/healer class (ironic isn't it?). I plan on starting an alternate, which will likely be a sorceress. I just found out that it is possible to start in the other races areas! For example, a Dark Elf or Human can travel to the Orc section of the map and do their quests! I've always thought of the Orcs having the best content- OrcOrcOrc!
If you plan on joining, you can find me easily! My character's name is.... Demi! Current Mood: thirsty

Ah, the joys of melee
I've lately been playing a brute for the first time. First serious time anyway—I've played one or two to lvl 6 or so but never really caught the bug.
But dual blades/dark armour is interesting. Lots of weird combos & situational powers to add a tactical dimension to it all. I'm lvl 23 as of tonight.
I will revert to my usual fragile healy/blasty team support kind of toon in warhammer - goblin shaman, maybe...? Oh yes - a word of advice - think about what name you want now, you'll have a rare chance to get a really good one since the game is launching from scratch. Log in to the claim the name as soon as you can after launch day...

So, right now I am in Toronto, Canada! I'm visiting friends and relatives and am enjoying my vacation so far. I went to a Tim Horton's (a doughnut and coffee shop) today and was shocked to find out that they automatically put milk and sugar in your coffee! Not so in the United States. They are "self serve" when it comes to adding milk and sugar. I am also tickled to see some of the words spelled on signs with a European-style flair. ie) Neighbour, Harbour, LOL!
I logged into CoV a few days ago, but didn't stay on very long. I am looking forward to Warhammer and will probably play either a Sorceress or a Black Orc.

Well I have some fun news! http://www.warhammeronline.com/
It looks like World of Warcraft, but I'd still like to try it. I'm already registered, so when the game comes out on September 18, I'll be there!

I remember the very first time I played City of Heroes. I didn't think that much of the game then. The animations were fun, but the game itself was very repetitive. Mish after mish, defeat all, find the glowie, rinse and repeat. Something happened and then I became attached to the game. I was fortunate and was able to go all the way to the top. Then, City of Villains came out and I knew I had to make it to 50 on "that" side too. I've been playing a long time now. A little over 3 years according to my account summary.
I feel that I have accomplished quite a bit in my CoH/CoV career. I made it to the top on three characters, completed several task forces, wrote several stories, and even started a supergroup! Oh and somewhere in there, I learned to appreciate tanks and brutes! But most of important of all, I was able to meet wonderful people like you. I watched your toons level and grow, and felt as if I had reached the top all over again.
I imagine by now you might be able to guess what this post is all about. Yes, I am leaving Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. I log in and play my toons every now and then, but it isn't the same. The thrill is gone. I find that a lot of times, I can't even finish a single mission anymore. My subscription won't expire until next year, but I don't see myself playing very often.

At their four year address, the game developers said:
"I can’t tell you how excited I am for our game’s future, and although we have some major announcements yet to be made, one of the things I can talk about is a feature that we are planning. Similar in concept to our character creator, it allows you, the players, to create missions and story arcs for your characters and others to participate in. You’ll be able to pick the map, villain group, and objectives, as well as write the dialog and any clues needed for the missions. When you are satisfied with it, you can upload it and have other players across all servers play it and rate it. Fame will come to the players whose stories rate the best overall. It is features like these that we never dreamed of including when we first shipped, but are excited to be able to offer players very soon".
I haven't really been an active player lately (I admit it) but I'm totally intrigued by this. Each time it seems like the game might be slipping off my list they do something to restore it.
This feature really opens the game up. Picture your toon as a helpful or hostile NPC. Think about having total freedom to create your own interactive mission-based stories. We can do each other's story arcs on the Saturday teams. What a way to evolve those character stories we were writing back in '06...
Sure it could be a while, but bound to be worth the wait, amirite??

So it's Double XP Weekend!

Kitty just got her internet back up. Went down late Friday night. Sorry I didn't log, but couldn't.
Will be able to make it this weekend, assuming something doesn't come up to stop me.
Looking forward to some great fun :)

Cimerora Imperious Task Force
Last night, I felt adventurous and decided to enter Cimerora. This is part of the new content in i12 and is a Roman-esque themed zone. You can reach Cimerora as a hero, by seeing Montague in the University at Steel Canyon. There is a special task force given by Imperious, known as the ITF. Upon completion of the ITF, you will be allowed to wear special Roman Gladiator-style costumes!
We tried the ITF last night and failed. It doesn't seem that difficult, but it's apparent that at least 2 tanks and debuffers are needed.
I'd like to try the ITF again on villain side. I'm planning on going as my Brute, Seranina. If you want to try the arc as a villain, you need to see Ashley McKnight, who is located by the University in Cap au Diable. You must be level 20 to do the arc.
Most of the toons we saw in Cimerora were high level, so our 50s will fit right in.http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat.php?Number=10737261
I saw a Crab Spider and I want one! I think I might switch up my Widow to go for a Spider instead.
|Saturday, June 14th, 2008|
I logged in a little late today, but was able to try out some of the new Midnighters arc. I think I am going to do the arc on Nielles, my Illusion/Kinetics Controller.
We'll all meet up eventually!
